Character Art
Exploration of characters typically starts out in the visual space for me, then moves into the written world.

In the case of Gold and Gossamer, everything was to be built around contrast. The dichotomy of the leads.

Most popular "enemies-to-lovers" fantasies present the shadowy, mysterious persona in the form a male love interest. In our case, however, these suave, powerful traits are instead aspects of the Fairy Queen's role. Our lead, King Dante, is more restrained, driven by a sharp moral compass and a profound love for his kingdom. They cannot help intriguing each other, even if their ideologies are so starkly different.

Most early concept work is centered around this push and pull, which I've created this page to highlight. Scroll further to check out more of these initial pieces! The characters have evolved a lot since.
